
Daniel Thoma
Prof. Dr. med. dent. Daniel S. Thoma
Daniel is Head of Implantology and Regeneration at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich, Switzerland. Following his graduation at the University of Basel, he was trained in implant dentistry and prosthodontics at the University of Zurich and is a specialist in Reconstructive Dentistry. Prof. Thoma has built a career at the intersection of clinical innovation and academic research in oral tissue regeneration and implantology.
A recipient of an ITI Scholarship, he completed a research fellowship at the Department of Periodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, USA. From 2016 to 2017, he also served as a full-time Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontology at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Since 2020, he has held the title of Adjunct Professor and currently serves as the head of Implantology and Regeneration at the University of Zurich.
He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Oral Reconstruction Foundation and Research Committee. He plays an active role in evaluating research grants, ensuring scientific rigor, and fostering innovation aligned with ORF’s mission to advance science and clinical practice in implant dentistry.
