Michael Stimmelmayr

Prof. Dr. Michael Stimmelmayr is an oral surgeon and internationally recognized expert in implantology and periodontology. He studied dentistry at the University of Regensburg, completing his degree in 1990. After clinical training in both private practice and academic institutions, he held key roles at the University of Munich’s Departments of Prosthodontics and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he trained under Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. W. Gernet and Prof. Dr. Dr. G.W. Paulus.

In 1997, he became a certified specialist in oral surgery, followed by advanced accreditations in implantology (BdiZ, 2001) and periodontology (EDA, 2002). He gained international experience through clinical training at Peninsula Periodontal Associates in San Mateo, California, and has run his private practice for oral surgery in Cham, Bavaria, since 2000.

Prof. Stimmelmayr has maintained a long-standing academic affiliation with the University of Munich (LMU), where he received his habilitation in 2013 and was appointed as an extraordinary professor in 2017. He also serves as an assistant lecturer at DTMD University in Luxembourg and leads an academic teaching and research facility accredited by Goethe University Frankfurt.

An accredited speaker for the DGI and APW since 2005, he is actively involved in teaching and research with a focus on implant-prosthetic concepts and peri-implant tissue management.
