Ricardo Faria-Almeida

Prof. Dr. Ricardo Faria-Almeida, DDS, PhD

Ricardo is Full Professor in the Department of Oral Surgery and Medicine at the University of Porto, Portugal, where he also serves as Director of the Postgraduate Program in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. He is a member of the Research Committee of the Oral Reconstruction Foundation, where he contributes to evaluating research grants, ensuring scientific rigor, driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and integrating emerging advancements across the field of oral reconstruction.

He earned his DDS from the University of Porto and went on to complete a Master in Periodontology at the Complutense University of Madrid (an EFP-accredited program). He later earned his PhD in Dental Medicine from the Department of Bucofacial Surgery and Medicine at the same university.

Ricardo continues to collaborate closely with the Complutense University of Madrid, where he serves as an Invited Professor in the Master in Periodontology program. Through his academic and research leadership, he remains committed to advancing excellence in periodontal science and clinical education.
