Course Description
This two-day bone grafting course will feature a combination of scientific lecture with hands-on training utilizing cadaver specimens. The course will focus on the principles of guided bone regeneration in implant dentistry and cover the most up-to-date techniques in bone grafting to improve long-term clinical success with dental implants. Indications for immediate implant placement in extraction sockets will also be addressed. This course is designed for the clinician that has prior implant experience and would like to broaden his/her knowledge and scope of practice and improve surgical skills.

- Step-by-step surgical procedure
- Selection of biomaterials
- Biologic modifiers and their relationship to bone regeneration
- Flap design for optimal esthetics and predictability
- Extraction techniques and guided bone regeneration in various post-extraction defects
- Immediate implant placement in extraction sockets
- Guided bone regeneration for simultaneous implant placement - “the Esthetic Contour Graft”
- Guided bone regeneration for vertical ridge augmentation
- Proper use of screws in the “screw tent-pole grafting” technique

Dr. Bach Le
Dr. Le completed his specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University and is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC. Dr. Le has lectured internationally on bone regeneration and dental implant-related surgery and has taught on six continents around the world. He is published in professional peer-reviewed journals and has authored or co-authored over 21 chapters in textbooks on bone regeneration and dental implants and served as editor of the Dental Implant section of the Fonseca Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery textbook (3rd edition). Dr. Le was inducted as an Honorary Member of the American College of Prosthodontists in 2014 and is a recipient of the Charles E. English Award in Clinical Science for “the most significant article” published in the Journal of Implant Dentistry for 2008. Dr. Le is a Diplomate of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiologist, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Le holds Fellowship in the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
